Why It Works

A real story. Real evidence. Real support.

Most health advice is written by people who've never needed it. EHFD is different โ€” a lived-experience program grounded in published research, designed for the realities of life after 45.

โค๏ธ

Lived experience

This program was born from a personal fight against prediabetes โ€” not from a textbook. Every lesson reflects what actually worked in real life.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Evidence-based

Every recommendation aligns with published research on weight loss, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes remission. We show our sources.

๐ŸŽฏ

Built for over-45s

No bootcamp culture or 20-something meal plans. Gentle, sustainable habits that respect your body, your schedule and your family life.

๐Ÿค

Community support

You're not doing this alone. Join a welcoming community of people on the same journey, sharing wins and keeping each other going.

The evidence

The science is on your side

These aren't motivational slogans โ€” they're findings from major studies and national health bodies.

Lifestyle change cuts risk by more than half

In a landmark US prevention study, participants who lost 5โ€“7% of their body weight through healthy eating and activity reduced their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%. The US CDC sums it up simply: eating healthy and being more active can cut your risk in half.

Type 2 diabetes can be put into remission

In the UK's DiRECT trial, 46% of participants who followed a structured weight-loss program were in remission from type 2 diabetes after one year โ€” and some remained in remission at five years. The key driver was sustained weight loss.

Most type 2 diabetes is preventable

Diabetes Australia reports that almost 60% of type 2 diabetes cases can be delayed or prevented with changes to diet and lifestyle โ€” and that around 2 million Australians currently have prediabetes.

Prediabetes is common โ€” and often silent

More than 2 in 5 US adults have prediabetes and 8 in 10 don't know it. In New Zealand, more than one in four adults has prediabetes. Catching it early is the whole game.
